• Yes, actually, Proto ⇒ Venue does belong at the same level as Ident and InOut.
• URL ⇒ NodeURL belongs with FSChain ⇒ PathChain and FSPiece ⇒ PathPiece

...and, finally, Venue needs to be initialized with a full URL, which it will retain. (This may or may not cause issues in code that uses it.) IOW: instead of being a utility which could just as easily have all-static functions, each object will represent a fixed URL (which it will store in its own NodeURL object).

...and now I'm not sure "Venue" is the right word, anymore... but it's less misleading than "Proto[col]", at least.
